Congrats you two. You look fabulous. Here is my first present for you 2. Deon 1 Peter 3 In a similar way, you wives must submit yourselves to your husbands so that, even if some of them refuse to obey the word, they may be won over without a word through your conduct as wives 2 when they see your pure and reverent lives. 3 Your beauty should not be an external one, consisting of braided hair or the wearing of gold ornaments and dresses. 4 Instead, it should be the inner disposition of the heart, consisting in the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which God values greatly.[a] 5 After all, this is how holy women who set their hope on God used to make themselves beautiful in the past. They submitted themselves to their husbands, 6 just as Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him lord. You have become her daughters by doing good and by not letting anything terrify you. How did this happen??
I went to visit Chi in London to celebrate our 1st year anniversary, but knowing his busy weekend schedule I was settled with the idea of going for a romantic meal in the evening to enjoy this landmark moment with my lovely boyfriend.
It was the on the 1st anniversary of us officially being an item.. Fortunately the day was a Saturday and Miss Johnson came to visit me in London. So I thought I'd use the mask of our 1st anniversary celebration to take the leap of faith of proposing to her.
I was very busy with prior weekend commitments that day so I was out of the house ALL DAY.
Chi's weekends tend to be very busy, so he was out all day Saturday. Although I was partly mentally prepared for it, it still didn't feel nice spending most of our 1st anniversary on my own, but I was sure he'll do his best to make it up to me when we gets back.
During my weekend duties I informed Deon that we'll be going out for a meal as soon as I got back so she should start getting ready.(Women take considerably longer to get ready for some reason).
Chi told me that we were going out for a meal and to get ready (as expected), so I did. I was so excited anticipating his return and our romantic dinner about to happen. I even took a moment to think of what I might like to eat on this special day.
Chi came back and got ready and we went out.
I came back and got ready, but somehow I was still ready before her even though she had all day to get ready.
He took me to an amazing restaurant in "The Shard" in Central London.
It was perfect............... :-)
We both looked fantastic
The food was great (Lobster mmmmmmm)
The view was stunning
And the ambience couldn't be more perfect.
Dinner was all that I could ask for.....Money well spent :)
It was what people would refer to as the perfect moment to pop the question.
But ofcourse I can't be so predictable (cheeky grin).
After enjoying the anniversary dinner I had totally forgotten about being on my own all day, but I was happy I could share those special moments with my special guy.
I was tired and ready to go home and sleep at this point.
Chi was his normal calm and collected self and was getting to his tired point as well (being out and about since about 7am I'm told).
We went back to his flat and he took me into the kitchen, put the kettle on and told me he had 1 more surprise. I was baffled as he had given me presents, flowers and taken me out. What more could he have for me I wondered???
Few minutes later he took me into his room, it was covered with red roses and red candles in the shape of a heart.
Nice romantic music was playing in the background, and then he said to me.........LET'S DANCE!!!
Still in awe of it all, I held onto him and we danced through 2 very positively emotional songs.
As the 3rd song began HE GOT ON ONE KNEE and asked me to marry him.
My last plan of the day was to propose.
I decorated my room with Red Roses and Red Candles which took me a total of rougly 10hours to prepare (this is SACRIFICE people).
I took her home, We danced a bit, then I asked her the burning question.
SHE SAID YES!!!!! (COMMMMOOOONNNNNNN)
But then she wasn't sad, she wasn't dumb-founded, she didn't cry......what did she then do????.........Wait for it.............................. SHE GIGGLED!!!!! UNCONTROLLABLY!!!
Why is she giggling I asked myself?? That's when I learnt something new about my now Fiancee.
When she doesn't know what to do with herself, she'll just keep giggling.
I was so shocked as I never thought he was ready for this next level of commitment. HE IS.
I don't know why but I couldn't stop giggling. I was overwhelmed with joy. This day has finally come, and he knew me well enough to know that I would have preferred it in a private area rather than in public.
I was just so thankful to God that the Man I love with all my heart feels the same and is ready to marry me.
So all my plans had come together perfectly (Thank God).
All that was left was for me to clean up the room and sleep.... Just couldn't wait to sleep LOL
I first met Chi in 2013 at his sisters wedding.....forward to 2015 we both went for OFNC in Birmingham were we met again we greeted each other before re-joining our friends.
We later arranged to meet in Manchester which happened a few months later. From our first meeting Chi has always made me feel comfortable and relaxed. At our meeting we talked about everything, Conversations were flowing and there were no awkward silences,
What I initially liked about Chi was how mature he is for guy at his age which got my attention because I dont like juvenile boys. Am so glad that he's still a mature gentleman and most of all A MAN OF GOD.
Over the years of being with Chi I've learnt so much from him, like how to love unconditionally, and everyday I GROW to love him more and more..
I am so blessed to have Chi in my life and I know he's my !good and perfect gift from God and He adds no sorrow to it". I thank God everyday for his life and the work He's doing in him.
We met in Birmingham!!!(of all places)......But it was at a christian event.......Big up OFNC Connect!!!
We stayed in touch and then FINALLY met in Manchester a few months later.
We spent a lot of time together the few months after that and we got to know each other a lot better. She didn't really like me at 1st but my boyish charms and manly "Samson-like" beards won her over in the end (she still doesn't totally like the beard though and always wants me to shave it off).
Our first major relationship challenge arose when I decided to move to the Capital (London Town) to face new challenges and experiences.
To our surprise my distance brought us even closer and we did a lot of travelling between the cities to see each other (she did most of it actually, I was too busy London hustling).
And almost 2years later........Here we are :)
So what can I say about me.....
I'm known as Charismatic, Caring, Competent, Confident and Courageous Chi :). (also aspiring to be Christ-Like Chi)
No.4 of 5 'Irozuru' children. 1 gorgeous sister and 3 amazing brothers.
Born in Ibadan, Nigeria but from Amakama; Umuahia South Local Government, Abia state, Nigeria (go Igbos!!!). I lived in Nigeria for a few years until I became a teenager, and then moved to Manchester UK with my brothers to join my mum and sister here.
I've been a Manchester boy since (Love it!!).
Went to Cedar Mount High school then moved to Stretford Grammar school for college. Both great times and met a lot of great friends too.
Next was UNI......Newcastle University was EPIC!!! I loved my time there and once again I met friends for life there(big-up Angola). I graduated with a Bachelors in Mathematics and Accounting (yep slightly geeky) but I also got to enjoy playing Basketball with the team and a few other perks of the "Toon"(aka Newcastle City).
I went on to purse a career in Accounting and hence completed my ACCA studies. Accounting is alright so far.....
I am a christian and a lover of worship and music so I enjoy listening and playing gospel music whenever I can. I thank God for blessing me with the skills to play all the instruments I've learnt.
I moved to London in 2016 to explore new opportunities, and I'm still here hustling (as they say). So if you haven't seen me around the North-West much....this is why.
I'm glad and grateful to be blessed with a wonderful group of family and friends, and I'm excited to integrate Deon into my life completely.
Am the eldest of 4 girls, unfortunately I have no biological brothers but am about to inherit four brothers whoop whoop!
I was born in the sunny Island of Jamaica before moving to the UK in my early adolescent years to join my family. I went to Ducie High school. My year was the very last of Ducie High before it became Manchester Academy.
I did my A levels at Trafford College, I worked very hard to ensure I get the grades for University.
I went to Bradford University where I did my Adult Nurse training and worked. while I was living in Bradford I met some amazing people who have positively impacted my life and have grown with spiritually.
Before returning to Manchester I was very active in church, I served in the choir (I consider my self a worshipper and I love to worship my Lord and saviour) I also served in hospitality team for new comers.
I enjoy reading books, going to the gym and running. Last year I ran the Great Manchester run 10k for Great Ormond Street Charity and raised a little short of £500. In preparation for my 10K run, I would run 5k every Saturday morning at 9am which was refreshing and fun as I was running with hundreds of people so early in the morning. My first attempt at running 5K and I did it under 30 minutes, not bad right??!!
Am very much looking forward to the wonderful works God is about to perform in our lives and becoming Mr and Mrs Irozuru.
Only those specifically invited for the reception need to RSVP on the Wedding Reception page ASAP so we can confirm attendance.
